this is a invitation that i did for an awesome charity here in atlanta. yup...and adult spelling bee.
hmm...i think i will just stick to the designing!

im obsessed with design blogs.

ok ok im obsessed with blogs. design blogs to be exact.  i think the creative bug just takes over and i just soak in any ideas i can get.

right now i am working on designing my 2 (almost 3) yo daughter's new "big girl" bedroom.  of course is has been so much fun for me!  i am using all the bright colors mixed with soft hues, that i love so much.

how to manage my work day.

i have been really busy with life lately.  my 2 year old started preschool. my etsy store has been picking up in business, and i have been working on some wedding invitations for some wonderful people i know!

i also have been trying to nail down a work schedule that fits me just right.  i have been doing a little research on how other entrepreneurs manage their time.  i tell you, it has helped me out tremendously.  designing is easy to me, its organizing my time that is hard.  i did get some great advice on a couple of blogs...

1. ship products on designated days.

2. check email only in the morning for an hour and at lunch for an hour.

3. choose a particular day to post on your blog. this is to let everyone follow what you do on a day to day basis and to get to know me as a designer.

4. communicate with other people in my design field.  they are a community not a competitor.

5. try to put up a new item every two weeks on my online store.

these are some of my goals starting last week.  trying to implement them in my schedule.

i designed these web banners for dEVCOR INNOVATIONS new iPhone case THE OPENER that comes with a built in bottle opener. can you say...amazing!?  perfect for christmas gifts....get them while they are hot!

isn't that what the elves are doing now?  well i have a little elf helping me when i work.  she told me she is working on her "stations" today. (otherwise known as invitations.)

i have been working on holiday cards for clients. i love seeing all the pictures that families send me. it just gets me in the holiday spirit.  not only have i been busy working on holiday cards, but i am also in the process of rearranging my workspace.

right now i am staring at a wall when i work...but i am soon to change this. i just made an unexpected trip to ikea. good for them. bad for me. ho ho ho!

so i have been working on my companies look.  i have revamped my logo, updated my blog site, and have added new items to my etsy page.

its hard when your company takes off before you get all the details organized. i guess that is the design business for you.  i thought "now is time to get organized".   this is hard work people, but i love every minute of it!

between being an active mommy, designing, doing social media/marketing/reservations for our bar, and dabbling on my for the babes {a tot blog}, you can say my time is well occupied.

i now have a little table set up in my office for my 2 year old, taylor.  she "works" with me when i am designing. she has all kinds of projects going on. she might have her own etsy page soon!

i am really trying hard to keep my blog updated for me, for you. i want this to be a place where i can share my work, as well as cool things i might come across in my daily life.

we have moved notecards.

i am really please with these fun "we have moved" cards.  the city map you live in is the envelope liner.  in this case its LA!  I also have an old timey car and a suv looking jeep that i drew instead of the trailer!  they aren't available on etsy yet, but email me if you are interested in purchasing!

i just finished 4 orders of my POP SCHOOL GIRL & BOY NOTECARDS. my client chose 1 style of the 4 offered in my POP SCHOOL collection and made it her own for each tot.

 
she chose the colors and picked the style she liked for each card and voila! i hope they love them as much as i do!

my new etsy shop.

so i have been working really hard at making my business legit.  i have been making connections, getting my work out there, organizing my office (or what you can call an office), and setting up all of my social media. i need a team doing all this work for me, but its just me.

i love designing.  i could sit and create all day.  trying to find the time to do it, is the challenge.

now that i am slowly getting things set up, it is helping me get organized. i am very proud to say I finally have my ETSY site up and running.  This is my on-line shop. You will be able to purchase all of the fine goods I create.




right now I only have two items available, but there will be more, i promise.
it is just taking me a minute to take pictures and list each item!

i am very appreciative that i have the chance to do something i really love. 

my company Bee Invited & Co. was a name that i thought of a long time ago.  it has come to my attention that there are other invitation companies named "bee invited". so to avoid the confusion, I   have to part with my cute little company name. 

today is the first day that I will be unleashing my new name and new logo...
